Hughes Helps Raise Funds for San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity
The June Showroom Sale + Hughes Gives Back event benefiting the San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity had a great turn out! Christopher Kahl (right) from Habitat ReStores was on hand to answer questions about their local programs and where their fundraising dollars go. Kahl explained to us that, last year, our local Habitat ReStores covered all of the nonprofit’s administrative costs and that their fundraising dollars to go directly into their programs – that’s impressive for any nonprofit!
We were excited to learn about Habitat’s redevelopment of the 5.1-acre Desiderio US Army Reserve Center site in the Arroyo just south of the 210 Freeway. This San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity building project will include nine single-family detached bungalow homes and will be a huge addition to the affordable housing stock in Pasadena.
As always, it was a busy shopping weekend for everyone! Hughes Gives Back items were marked with a special green heart sticker so buyers would know which items would benefit Habitat.
Thanks to everyone who came out and made this event a success. We’re already planning our next Hughes Gives Back event and look forward to helping facilitate more positive changes in our communities.
