Hughes Estate Sales is proud to be a founder of the National Estate Sales Association (NESA), the first non-profit trade association to serve the estate sale industry.
In November 2014, the owners of Hughes met with nine other estate sales company owners and began the journey to form a trade association that would be a force for positive change in our quickly expanding industry. After two years of in depth research, visionary planning, and steady determination, NESA was launched in 2016.
NESA’s motto defines the founder’s intentions succinctly: By The Industry / For The Industry.
NESA now offers estate sale professionals a range of educational resources and a tiered membership structure designed to help new companies gain the skills for full membership. Consumer education for those needing to hire an estate sale company central to NESA’s mission. The NESA Code of Ethics offers companies and those seeking to hire an estate sale company a framework for fair, legal, and ethical business practices. The NESA Code of Ethics takes into consideration the challenges of running an estate sales business, pertinent federal law, as well as best practices concerning consumer protections.
